Dr Dariusz Gafijczuk is Lecturer in Sociology at Newcastle University. He was the recipient of the Newton International Fellowship. He has previously published in the areas of sociology, social theory and history, with an emphasis on Central Europe, the arts, and the uses of time in culture and social research. Dr Gafijczuk is currently working on the connection between 'senses of belonging' and Europe.
