Reform of English Libel Law

The British Academy held a Forum on libel law on 17 May 2011 following the publication of the Defamation Bill in March 2011. The chair, Professor Eric Barendt, opened the discussion to participants following brief presentations from Lord Tom McNally, Minister of Justice, Jonathan Heawood of English PEN and Professor Alastair Mullis from the University of East Anglia.
