How archaeological resources are used in the 21st century is an important concern, at both local and international levels. This lecture explores different approaches to valuing heritage, community and interest groups involvement, conservation, presentation, and the influence of any interventions on contemporary perceptions of the past. These issues are illustrated with case studies drawn from along the Silk Roads, including a number of sites within Turkey.
